For the Lower Humboldt...including Palisade, Battle Mountain, Comus...Minor flooding is forecast.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Humboldt River at Comus.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 10.0 feet, Minor to moderate lowland flooding throughout the reach. Some rural roads near the river begin to flood. Very minor flooding begins in Winnemucca with storm drain backups, and the lowest parts of town begin to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:15 AM PDT Saturday the stage was 10.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 8.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 11:15 AM PDT Saturday was 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 10.0 feet late this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Tuesday afternoon. - Flood stage is 9.5 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 9.9 feet on 02/21/1962. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
