...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 145 PM EDT /1245 PM CDT/ THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of Florida, including the following counties, Gadsden and Jackson and Georgia, including the following counties, Baker, Colquitt, Decatur, Grady, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole and Thomas.

* WHEN...Until 145 PM EDT /1245 PM CDT/.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1039 AM EDT /939 AM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Colquitt, Bainbridge, Cairo, Pelham, Camilla, Thomasville, Donalsonville, Moultrie, Ochlocknee, Pavo, Coolidge, Whigham, West Bainbridge, Chattahoochee, Riverside, Schley, Sneads, Grand Ridge, Attapulgus and Funston. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Alabama, including the following areas, Coffee and Geneva, Florida, including the following areas, Calhoun, Central Walton, Coastal Bay, Coastal Franklin, Coastal Gulf, Coastal Jefferson, Coastal Wakulla, Gadsden, Holmes, Inland Bay, Inland Franklin, Inland Gulf, Inland Jefferson, Inland Wakulla, Jackson, Leon, Liberty, North Walton, South Walton and Washington, and Georgia, including the following areas, Baker, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brooks, Calhoun, Colquitt, Cook, Decatur, Dougherty, Early, Grady, Irwin, Lee, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole, Thomas, Tift, Turner and Worth.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT /8 PM EDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
